TheIKNPost.com – In order to ensure the success of the National Capital Integrated Coastal Development (IKN), Deputy Chairman of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) Mahyudin has opened up the opportunity to run in the upcoming East Kalimantan (Kaltim) Provincial Election scheduled for November 2024. He stated that one of the reasons for his candidacy is to contribute to the realization of the National Capital of Indonesia (IKN), as reported on Thursday (3/21/2024).
“I want to prove that the IKN initiative spearheaded by Mr. Jokowi will indeed come to fruition. Thus, Kaltim will be able to become a growth epicenter in Indonesia and serve as an example for cities worldwide,” Mahyudin said during an iftar event with community leaders from Kaltim.
By becoming a regional leader in Kaltim, Mahyudin aims to contribute to and ensure the success of the IKN project in the region. He believes this is crucial to counter the voices of skepticism surrounding the development of IKN.
“With the successful development of IKN, those who have been skeptical will come to realize that IKN can indeed be realized,” he stated.
Mahyudin is considering running in the 2024 Kaltim Regional Election as an independent candidate. He remains optimistic about garnering support from the people of Kaltim.
“After I hinted at the possibility of running in the election through my social media account, many community groups have approached me offering to volunteer,” he concluded.
