JAKARTA: Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar officially filed a lawsuit against the results of the 2024 presidential election (pilpres) which had just been determined by the General Election Commission (KPU) to the Constitutional Court (MK), Thursday (21 March)

“The National Legal Team (THN) led by Mr. Ari Yusuf will bring all documents related to the legal process that will be carried out,” said Anies at the AMIN Winning Headquarters, on Jalan Diponegoro 10, Central Jakarta, as reported by Liputan 6.

Anies underlined his party’s desire to improve democratic practices in the country in a better direction in the future. Therefore, the AMIN camp is determined to optimize their constitutional rights.

“With the process at the Constitutional Court, it is hoped that this will be a lesson for all of us,” added the former governor of DKI Jakarta.

The registration of the lawsuit was submitted by AMIN’s National Legal Team (THN). From CNNIndonesia.com’s monitoring, they arrived at the MK Building at 08.30 WIB.

Based on information from the MK website, the lawsuit application has been registered with number: 01-01/AP3-PRES/Pan.MK/03/2024.

Also present on the agenda were AMIN National Team Captain Muhammad Syaugi, AMIN National Team Co-Captain Thomas Trikasih Lembong alias Tom Lembong, former Deputy Chair of the Corruption Eradication Commission Saut Situmorang, and advocate and THN AMIN Expert Council, Eggi Sudjana.

“With great gratitude, today we officially registered the election dispute petition with the Constitutional Court,” said Ari.

Ari added that registration was carried out online on Thursday morning, at 01.00 WIB.

Previously, Muhaimin Iskandar had asked THN AMIN to submit a dispute over the election results to the MK.

The KPU has named the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka pair as the winner of the 2024 presidential election in one round.
