TheIKNPost.com – The Bekasi City Gerindra Party DPC is facing serious shocks, where their 50 Legislative Candidates (CALEG) for the Bekasi City DPRD have the potential to fall.
This is due to the issuance of a new Decree (SK) from the Gerindra Party DPP, Number: 09-0291/Kpts/DPP-GERINDRA/2023, dated September 22 2023, which determines the management structure of the Bekasi City DPC.
This decision replaces the previous Decree, Number: 04-0040/Kpts/DPP-GERINDRA/2019, dated April 16 2019, with the name R.Eko Setyo Pramono, SE as Chair of the DPC.
Chronology of Management Changes: Threatening Dualism
- The new decree was supposed to be the basis for signing the Minutes and Determining CALEGs from the Temporary Candidate List (DCS) to the Permanent Candidate List (DCT) on October 3 2023. However, even though it has been published since September 22 2023, the new SK has only just been submitted from the Party’s DPD Gerindra West Java to the new Chairman on December 12 2023.
- If the new decree is recognized by the General Election Commission (KPU), the consequences will be very serious. This decree expressly revokes the previous decree, and if the KPU accepts the new decree, all Gerindra Party Bekasi City CALEGs will be deemed invalid. The main reason is that the date of birth of the new SK is long before the signing of the Minutes and Determination of CALEG.
- However, increasingly confusing problems arise. It turns out that the new decree has not been registered with SIPOL or SILON KPU, contrary to KPU Regulation no. 10 of 2023 Article 10 paragraph (1) Point c. This means, according to these regulations, Minutes and Design Determinations from DCS to DCT must be signed by the Chairman and Secretary who are registered and recognized by the KPU.
Response and Demands: Bekasi City KPU and Bawaslu are asked to act firmly
It is recommended that the KPU take a firm stance in rejecting the new decree because it is not registered with SIPOL or SILON KPU, in accordance with PKPU No. 10 of 2023 Article 10 paragraph (1) Point c.
This could invalidate all the Gerindra Party’s Bekasi City CALEG candidates.
The Bekasi City Bawaslu is also expected to play a role in monitoring all forms of violations, including administrative violations in any form.
This situation shows the complexity and potential for instability in the democratic party stages of the 2024 elections in Bekasi City.
