THE IKN POST — Strengthening Ideology for the Youth (Gen Z): BPIP Calls on Social Media Activists
The Agency for Pancasila Ideology Education (BPIP) has responded to several online and mainstream media reports that were deemed disproportionate and lacking objectivity regarding the additional budget request presented at the Joint Hearing with the DPR Commission II at Nusantara Building, Jakarta, on Tuesday (11/6) last week.
Tonny Agung Arifianto, S.E., M.A.B., Secretary General of the Agency, explained the reasons behind proposing an additional budget of IDR 100 billion in the 2025 State Budget Draft, with IDR 45 billion allocated for empowering content creators and social media activists in anticipation of the Golden Generation 2045.
Additionally, Tonny outlined the chronology, attributing it partly to the declining budget trend for BPIP from 2023 through 2025.
“BPIP has proposed an additional budget of IDR 100 billion, not without reason, as our budget trend has been consistently decreasing since 2023,” he stated during a Press Conference clarifying the BPIP Budget Proposal for 2025 and the Announcement of the 2024 Central-Level Paskibraka in the BPIP Office (24/06).
Tonny revealed that BPIP’s budget ceiling was IDR 357 billion in 2023, reduced to IDR 342 billion in 2024, and is projected to decrease further to IDR 299 billion in 2025.
He mentioned that BPIP, along with other ministries/agencies, requested additional funding due to various activities involving multiple stakeholders, driven by current conditions to anticipate Indonesia’s Golden Generation 2045 and the 2030 Demographic Bonus, predominantly composed of productive millennials and Gen Z.
“Hence, the core motivation behind addressing Gen Z and the demographic bonus is anticipating the need to empower social media activists, influencers, YouTubers, TikTokers, and content creators across platforms like YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and others,” he clarified.
“The concept is not merely financial support but rather conducting coaching clinics or technical guidance to develop creative and positive content aligned with the actualization of Pancasila,” he added.
Tonny hopes that through empowerment and guidance for social media enthusiasts, positive content production will proliferate, particularly among Gen Z.
Furthermore, Tonny conveyed that BPIP has already conducted empowerment, education, and mainstreaming of Pancasila values among social media activists in Cirebon and Malang, engaging nearly a thousand participants from the younger generation and social media enthusiasts.
“These social media activists do not merely focus on commercial content; Pancasila values need to be developed,” he emphasized.
“This underscores the purpose of expanding activities: to empower and guide social media enthusiasts in producing creative, positive content that aligns with Pancasila values.”
“This is the essence of #PancasilaInAction, a slogan fostered by BPIP,” Tonny Agung Arifianto concluded, Secretary General of the Agency for Pancasila Ideology Education.
