Google Dorks
Google Dorks is an OSINT technique that utilizes the Google search engine with a few tips & tricks so that searches narrow down to a desired target.
This is very helpful for getting specific data from the target.
Here are the tips & tricks:
– Quotation marks “” to narrow the search, for example “digital forensics”, then it will display search hits that contain the word “digital forensics” in full, not separately
– site: , for example site:.go.id, will display a site ending in .go.id
– filetype: , for example filetype:pdf, will display all files in pdf format
– intitle: , for example intitle:report, will display search hits with the report title
– inurl: , for example inurl:index.php id=, then it will display search hits for all sites whose URLs contain index.php id=
– intext: , for example intext:digital forensic, it will display search hits for all sites that contain digital forensic text
Because the search results are very focused and focused on a specific target, Google Dorks are often also used for hacking activities.
