TheIKNPost.com โ Ronald McDonald House Charities Foundation (RMHC) Commemorates its 13th Birthday by Sharing Happiness with Child Patients and Volunteers at RSCM.
The Ronald McDonald House Charities Foundation (RMHC) celebrated its 13th anniversary by holding an event at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) on February 27
2024.
The event, which was attended by more than 50 pediatric patients and dozens of invited guests, featured
various activities aimed at entertaining and lifting the spirits of children who are undergoing treatment at RSCM.
This festive moment was filled with a series of activities, starting from storytelling by the team from Ayo Dongeng Indonesia, magic shows, to holding a Magic Show that entertained pediatric patients.
It is hoped that this activity will provide an opportunity for children to express themselves
their feelings through drawing activities, which are not always easy to express verbally.
With drawing activities, pediatric patients are able to express feelings that are not easy
delivered orally. Drawing is a medium that can give children the freedom to choose their favorite drawing objects, play with colors, express their imagination and hopes without fear or doubt.
Parents can also accompany this drawing process while exploring children’s feelings
through the picture.
“Through various activities we can still feel at home and get to know many new families here,” said Mama Elvano, who accompanies children in care at RSCM from Papua.
Apart from entertainment, RMHC also gave hundreds of gifts to children who were recovering.
This action is a form of RMHC’s concern for the children who are undergoing it
treatment at RSCM. “All these achievements (13 years) were of course achieved together with support.
“The RMHC Foundation and the big role of families who are unbroken and always enthusiastic in accompanying children during the period of prevention, treatment and recovery.” Said Uud Cahyono as RSCM Legal and Public Relations Manager.
The 13th anniversary of the RMHC Foundation was also celebrated lively at the Ronald McDonald House Denpasar, attended by more than 50 participants, including pediatric patients, families, and volunteers consisting of psychologists, medical personnel, and also the community in Bali.
The excitement of the event was marked by a very varied series of activities, ranging from health and beauty consultations, live acoustic music entertainment, to
a variety of exciting and entertaining games.
Everything took place in an atmosphere full of happiness and togetherness, creating unforgettable, precious moments for all those present.
This year, through the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile program, RMHC will go to several regions in Indonesia, such as West Sumatra and South Kalimantan, to distribute 75,000 immunizations to children in remote areas that are still difficult for medical personnel to reach.
This is part of RMHC’s commitment to help advance the quality of children’s health in Indonesia.
Currently, RMHC is also planning to add one halfway house in the West Jakarta area, located around 3 major hospitals that treat children with congenital heart disease as well as cancer and other chronic diseases.
“Accompanying the process of ups and downs in the health condition of children who are in intensive care often makes the patient’s family feel tired physically, emotionally and mentally,” said
Ratih Prativi Negara as Organizational Leader of the RMHC Foundation.
“Through our halfway house program, every activity and facility focuses on welfare and physical and mental recovery efforts, not only for children, but also for the families who stop by. “We believe that families who feel safe and comfortable will be better able to support the recovery of their sick child,” he explained
Ratih Prativi Negara.
Currently, RMHC already has 3 Shelter Houses (Ronald McDonald House), 2 Waiting Rooms (Ronald McDonald Family Room), and 2 Mobile Health Cars (Ronald McDonald Care Mobile) which can run thanks to help and support from partners and donors.
We will continue to develop these RMHC programs
“do it, so that more families are helped, more children experience recovery, and more children reach the ideal level of health,” he said.
