TheIKNPost.com –– Trending and frequently clicked news regarding the increase in PLN tariffs. There will be no increase in PLN electricity rates as of March 1, 2024.
State Electricity Company (PLN) has announced an increase in electricity rates which will take effect from March 1 2024.
This increase occurred after it was decided that electricity rates throughout the October-December 2023 period would not change or remain stable.
This decision, according to the Director General of Electricity, Jisman P Hutajulu, was based on the government’s consideration of maintaining the competitiveness of business actors, people’s purchasing power and a stable inflation rate.
Macroeconomic Considerations: Determination of electricity tariffs for the first quarter of 2024 refers to several macroeconomic factors, including the US dollar exchange rate against the rupiah, Indonesian Crude Price (ICP), inflation, and reference coal prices.
The macroeconomic parameters used are based on realization in August, September and October 2023.
In this context, the exchange rate used is IDR 15,446.85/US dollar, ICP is 86.49 US dollars/barrel, inflation is 0.11 percent, and HBA is 70 US dollars/ton according to the coal DMO policy.
Stability Policy: The policy of not changing electricity tariffs in January-March 2024 applies to 13 non-subsidized customers and 25 subsidized customer groups.
This is done to maintain economic stability and avoid price fluctuations which could have a negative impact on business actors and society in general.
