Levy admitted he had the “audience’s enjoyment” in mind during the making of the film and he hopes everyone “had fun” watching it.
“I keep thinking about how to make the audience happy when watching this film. That is always my reference. Yes, that is the challenge,” he said.
“Yes, it’s definitely going to be funny. That’s for sure. But we want to put a fun show in theaters for the audience, and that’s our goal.”
Levy added that early screenings of the film proved “very, very promising”, although he felt that the intensity of the plot needed to be “speeded up” a bit.
“We’ve had some very, very promising early screenings,” he said.
“I’m not saying there will be big surprises, but we will be able to feel when the plot speeds up, slows down, and shows more in-depth and memorable character moments,” he said.
Deadpool & Wolverine will be released in theaters on July 26, 2024. This film will mark the ninth time Jackman has played Wolverine, perhaps the most iconic character throughout his career in the world of acting. The last time Jackman played Wolverine was in the film Logan which aired in 2017.
Apart from sitting in the director’s chair, Levy is the scriptwriter for this film along with a number of other writers, including Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Zeb Wells, and Reynolds.
Levy is also known as a producer for the hit series Stranger Things.
