THE IKN POST — Sharing Ramadan: PWI Jaya Distributes Aid Packages and Assistance to the Needy and Warakawuri
JAKARTA—Sharing with orphans and the needy brings joy, especially when such activities are carried out during Ramadan and leading up to Eid al-Fitr 1445 H.
The Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) of DKI Jakarta Province held “PWI Jaya Shares” on Friday (4/5/2024) at the PWI Jaya Secretariat, Prasada Sasana Karya Building 9th floor, Central Jakarta.
The event was attended by the officials of PWI Jaya, the Indonesian Family Journalists Association (IKWI) of PWI Jaya, warakawuri, as well as dozens of orphaned children from the Aisyiah Foundation, Jelambar, West Jakarta, and representatives from the Painan School of Legal Studies (STIH), Serang.
Also present was senior journalist and former PWI Central Board member, Nurjaman Mochtar, who delivered a brief sermon before the journalists broke their fast.
The Acting Chairman of PWI Jaya, Kesit Budi Handoyo, in his address, explained that “PWI Jaya Shares” is held every year. “We hope that this activity will continue annually. We want PWI Jaya to continue sharing blessings and happiness with orphans and the needy, especially as Eid approaches,” said Kesit.
On that occasion, Kesit announced his candidacy for the PWI Jaya 1 chairmanship for the 2024-2029 period through the Provincial Conference on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at the Jakarta Provincial Government City Hall.
“I ask for prayers from all of you. But most importantly, let us all stay healthy,” Kesit added.
Similar hopes were expressed by Tb. Adhi, the chairman of the organizing committee for “PWI Jaya Shares,” STIH Painan lecturer Bahori, and STIH Painan student representative, Radjab Ritonga.
Tb. Adhi expressed gratitude for the contributions from PLN Jakarta Raya Distribution Main Unit, Bakrie Amanah, Djarum, Gadjah Tunggal, and BRI Cares, BRI Regional I, who supported the smooth running of the PWI Jaya Shares event.
