There are many surprises found in this album. The opening single, Fortnight, feels like a more mature, more mature era of 1989. This single also presents rapper Post Malone, whose song, Better Now, is one of Swift’s favorite songs.
However, Taylor cleverly returned to his roots, namely country music, through the song Daddy I Love Him. The song is played with the band, decorated with bold acoustic guitar riffs, and full of naughty and sharp lyrics.
Meanwhile, the song So Long, London is lined up as the 5th song on this album. Taylor’s big fans will know that the 5th kagu on each of her albums is the most moving song and will sound like a heartbreak.
Many people relate the song So Long, London as an expression of her confession regarding her love story with an actor from England, which ended in 2023.
Other songs, such as Who’s Afraid Of Little Old Me? it sounds like a mix of Evermore and Folklore, underscoring Taylor’s musical ambitions.
“Who’s afraid of old me?” Taylor said in the song.
“You should be afraid,” he answered.
However, The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived may be his most biting song to date:
