JAKARTA: President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will hold an open house at the Jakarta Presidential Palace on Eid this year.
Head of the Protocol Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat, Yusuf Permana, said that anyone can enter the Palace next Wednesday (10 April) without a special invitation.
“There is no invitation for this open house. So, the Palace opened the door, he, the president opened the door for both officials, figures and the public to please come, received by him in the context of halal bihalal,” said Yusuf, Monday (8 April) as reported by CNN Indonesia .
Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono said the Palace open house would start at 09.00 WIB after President Jokowi prayed Id at the Istiqlal Mosque.
Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia is scheduled to accompany President Jokowi during the Eid prayers at Istiqlal.
Kasetpres Heru Budi said residents who wanted to attend the open house had to follow the rules at the Palace. One of the rules is to dress neatly, wear shoes and not wear jeans.
President Jokowi previously held Eid open houses twice during his tenure as president, namely in 2017 and 2019.
Jokowi did not hold an open house during the Covid-19 pandemic.
