Due to her high risk, Munn underwent a biopsy, and discovered that she had aggressive cancer in both breasts. A month after the biopsy, she underwent a double mastectomy, and has now undergone four operations in the last 10 months, according to a report from The Guardian.
Munn admitted she kept the diagnosis a secret because “I needed to take a break and get through some of the hardest parts before sharing this news.” In a post on Instagram, Munn also thanked the doctors who had treated him.
In addition to the doctors, Munn also thanked her family and friends, especially her partner, comedian John Mulaney, “who was there when I went through every surgery and was there when I woke up, always putting up a photo of our son, Malcolm, so that it would be the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes,” he wrote.
Munn has starred in a number of films, including Magic Mike, The Predator, Office Christmas Party and X-Men: Apocalypse.
