On a sunny morning on the island of Madura, the atmosphere at Kamal Harbor was very busy. Hundreds of people gathered on the beach, ready to challenge the waves of the Madura Strait in the Madura Strait Kasal Cup Fin Swimming Competition.
Among them, there was a man who was familiar to the Bangkalan area. A humble official with an athletic body is none other than Dr. Arief M. Edie.
Arief, who served as Acting (Pj) Regent, and a TNI Navy officer, Marine Lieutenant Colonel (P) Imam Ibnu Hajar, Commander Lanal Batuporon. They were not only present as spectators, but also as participants who were ready to fight to cross the Madura Strait.
Wow, following in the footsteps of thousands of heroes who have kept Indonesian waters safe. With blazing enthusiasm, the Acting Regent and Commander Lanal Batuporon prepared to face this challenge.
Along with the sound of the waves, the race began. Hundreds of participants, including the Acting Regent and Commander Lanal Batuporon, jumped into the turquoise water, ready to make new history.
They swam with strong determination, through the tempting currents of the Madura Strait, towards the finish line at the Madura Strait Pier, in front of Mako Armada II Surabaya.
In the warmth of the competition, Commander Lanal Batuporon said that the Fin Swiming Competition was held to commemorate the 62nd anniversary of Kopaska.
More than a thousand participants from various circles, both TNI-Polri and the general public, took part in this competition.
For him, this competition is not just a sporting event, but also a means to foster a spirit of competition in society.
Meanwhile, the Acting Regent of Bangkalan expressed his appreciation for holding the swimming competition in the Madura Strait.
For Arief, this competition is not only a place to excel in sports, but also a medium to promote Bangkalan’s tourism potential and stimulate the economy of the local community.
By holding swimming competitions at Kamal Harbor, he hopes that the tourism potential and local economy can further develop.
“Kamal Port is not only a crossing point, but can also become a tourist destination and center of economic activity. “We will work together with the jet ski community to hold similar events and advance the surrounding MSME sector,” he said enthusiastically.
With burning enthusiasm, Acting Regent and Commander Lanal Batuporon, together with other participants, continued to move forward, crossing the Madura Strait, showing the world that fighting spirit will never fade.
And behind the waves of the Madura Strait, there is a story about togetherness, the spirit of unity, and the enchanting natural beauty of Bangkalan, a story that will continue to be remembered and passed down from generation to generation.
