JAKARTA: The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) delivered good news ahead of Eid 2024.
The Director General of Industrial Relations Development and Social Security (PHI and Jamsos) of the Ministry of Manpower, Indah Anggoro Putri, said that there had been improvements in the payment of Holiday Allowances (THR) this year.
This is marked by a decrease in the number of consultations and complaints received by the 2024 THR Command Post compared to the same period in 2023.
“Last year, before Eid, the number of complaints at command posts throughout Indonesia had reached more than 1,500, whereas now it is only around 600. The number of complaints received by the Ministry of Manpower has also decreased from around 500 to 320. This shows a significant improvement,” Indah said to the Antara news agency, Thursday (4 April).
In her explanation after the homecoming together in Jakarta, Indah continued that most of the consultations and complaints received by the THR 2024 Command Post, both under the coordination of the Ministry of Manpower and the Manpower Department in various regions, were not included in the serious category.
He also added that so far, up to the payment deadline seven days before Eid al-Fitr on April 3, there have been no complaints about the inability to pay THR to workers.
The Minister of Manpower, Ida Fauziyah, previously emphasized that companies must pay THR no later than H-7 of Eid al-Fitr 1445 H or April 3 2024.
This is in accordance with the Circular Letter of the Minister of Manpower Number M/2/HK.04/III/2024 concerning the Implementation of Providing Religious Holiday Allowances in 2024 for Workers/Labourers in Companies.
“THR must be paid in full and cannot be paid in installments,” he stressed
Companies that are late in THR payments will be subject to a fine of 5 percent of the total that should be paid.
