The event organizers hope that the forum can function as a platform for developing practical, real business opportunities and can foster stronger economic relations between Indonesia and Korea.
As we know, K-Wave has reached its peak in the world through film, fashion and music, one of which is K-Pop Boy Group and Girl Group. The success of Hallyu or Korean Wave had a broad impact and made Korea a mecca for creative industries.
Indonesia itself is the country with the largest economy in Southeast Asia and the country with the fourth largest population in the world which is working to create a creative and digital industrial ecosystem.
Recently, many Korean industries have set up factories and companies in Indonesia. Currently, many business leaders in Indonesia are trying to find partners from Korea to learn and develop collaborations that are mutually beneficial for both countries.
Dhika Himawan, co-founder of KVIBES.ID who is a representative in the K-Wave and I-Wave Side by Side: Boosting Indonesian and Korean Creative Towards 2045 forum, said “The reason why we got involved in Korean entertainment started because we were fans of K. -wave itself, then together with other colleagues built KVIBES.ID as a community for k-wave fans in Indonesia.”
In his session, Dhika Himawan also expressed his gratitude to Mr. Gandi Sulistiyanto (member of the Indonesian presidential advisory board/Indonesian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea 2022-2023) who had provided the opportunity to collaborate, one of which was when creating a logo contest for 50 Years of Indonesian Diplomatic Relations– South Korea.
