It seems that fans of the House Of The Dragon series have to start making choices about who they will root for in this Game of Thrones prequel universe. The reason is, in the second broadcast season, the conflict between the Black Family, led by Rhaenyra Targaryen, and the Green Family, influenced by Alicent Hightower, began to heat up.
It was so hot, HBO released two videos trailers on Thursday (21/3) for the second broadcast season of this series in order to show the perspectives of each of the warring camps.
The House Of The Dragon series is set about 200 years before the story shown in the Game of Thrones (GoT) series begins. This prequel series in the Westeros universe received a positive response from Game of Thrones fans, and season 2 will be released on June 16, 2024.
House Of The Dragon shows the conflict that occurred between the Targaryen family. The characters who appear in this series are the great-grandparents of Daenerys Targaryen, one of the main characters in GoT.
Via video trailers released, the second season of the House Of The Dragon series promises a great war between the Black Family and the Green Family who are fighting over who should occupy the throne after the departure of King Viserys I Targaryen.
Viserys I Targaryen was the father of Rhaenyra, the eldest daughter who had been named successor to the throne. However, after Rhaenyra’s mother died, King Viserys I married Rhaenyra’s best friend, Alicent Hightower, and had four children from this marriage.
Event after event that occurred before King Viserys I died made Alicent believe that their eldest son, Aegon, should be the successor to the throne, and not Rhaenyra. War between these families is inevitable.
