MATRANEWS.ID – Today, a number of interesting events occurred in the realm of national politics, when the Mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, decided to visit the residence of the General Chair of the Crescent Star Party (PBB), Yusril Ihza Mahendra.
Gibran’s arrival attracted attention because it became the main focus regarding the issue of the vice presidential candidate who will accompany Prabowo Subianto in the upcoming presidential election.
According to information obtained from Yusril Ihza Mahendra, Gibran arrived at his house in the Kebayoran area, Jakarta, at around 16.00 WIB on Saturday afternoon.
Yusril called the meeting an ordinary friendly gathering, although a number of parties speculated about the real motive behind the visit.
“It was 4 o’clock at my house in Kebayoran. Just a friendship,” said Yusril Ihza Mahendra to journalists via short message, emphasizing that the meeting took place within the framework of a normal friendship.
Even so, the meeting lasted quite a long time, namely around 45 minutes.
This raises questions about what Gibran and Yusril actually discussed during the meeting.
Gibran’s presence in Jakarta that day was not only to meet Yusril Ihza Mahendra.
He previously attended the Golkar Party national leadership meeting at the Golkar DPP office.
The party led by Airlangga Hartarto has officially proposed Gibran as a vice presidential candidate who will accompany Prabowo Subianto in the upcoming presidential election.
Gibran himself has responded to this proposal from the Golkar Party with a commitment to follow up on the Golkar national meeting decision with Prabowo.
This paved the way for the formation of an increasingly powerful coalition around Prabowo, currently consisting of Gerindra, Golkar, PAN, Democrat, PBB, Gelora, and Garuda.
In the increasingly heated political atmosphere leading up to the 2024 presidential election, Gibran’s meeting with Yusril Ihza Mahendra became one of the focal points of public attention.
