For Lin, his love for the world of dance started with the support of the people around him. His parents, Jen Wang and Lim Joe Ann, supported his passion since childhood. Even though it was said that children with Down Syndrome would be limited, both of them still support their daughter’s hobbies, from dancing to arts and crafts.
When Lin was performing, his parents, brother and wife were also watching to provide encouragement. Their family WhatsApp group is also filled with videos of Lin performing on stage.
Apart from dance, Lin’s other love is bowling, which he started playing in his early 20s. He often takes part in bowling matches held by the Down Syndrome Association of Singapore. His ability to roll a bowling ball is also getting better, to the point where he was chosen to represent Singapore at the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles, USA, in 2015. In that event, Lin won a silver medal in bowling.
