Jokowi again visited IKN Nusantara in North Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan. During his visit this time, Jokowi claimed that progress in the construction of the presidential office had reached 38 percent.
“Yes, it’s good (development of the construction of the presidential office), it’s already 38 percent,” said Jokowi, Friday (22/9).
On this occasion, he also explained that the development of a number of infrastructure in IKN was still according to plan.
“Everything is still according to plan, I think buildings such as the presidential office, presidential palace, ministries, are still on target. “Everything is according to plan,” he explained.
The President also emphasized that there were no problems related to the budget. “Especially for palaces, ministries, for basic infrastructure there are no problems,” he added.
Furthermore, he said that the government would continue to encourage infrastructure development for the private sector and business world in this prospective new national capital, starting from universities, hospitals, shopping centers, to places to eat. “That is what will give life to the Indonesian city, he said.
During his working visit this time, Jokowi laid the groundwork for a number of supporting facilities and infrastructure projects at IKN Nusantara, including the National Training Center for the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI). He explained that the construction of the training center was integrated with the construction of the IKN. According to Jokowi, the National Training Center, which will be built on 34.5 hectares of land, will be equipped with eight fields and other supporting facilities.
Jokowi also laid the foundation stone for the Abdi Waluyo Hospital, which is the first hospital to be built in the IKN area.
The former governor of DKI Jakarta also appreciated the investment of IDR 2 trillion for the construction of Abdi Waluyo Nusantara Hospital. Later, the hospital will have around 400 treatment rooms and provide sub-specialist care. “So it is not a general hospital, but a sub-specialist,” he explained. He hopes that the presence of Abdi Waluyo Hospital at IKN can be an attraction for people not only in the IKN area, but also people from all over Indonesia.
Head of the Nusantara IKN Authority, Bambang Susantono, said that various groundbreakings for the above development projects since Thursday (21/9) marked the official entry of private sector investment into IKN.
In a written press release received by VOA, Bambang said that the investment consortium in IKN was named Groundbreaking The Nusantara Consortium consists of ten investors, namely Agung Sedayu Group, Salim Group, Sinarmas, Pulauintan, Adaro Group, Barito Pacific, Mulia Group, Astra Group, Kawan Lama Group, and Alfamart group. Their investment, he said, reached IDR 20 trillion
Several investors in the consortium, he explained, are also involved in the process of building hotels, shopping centers, hospitals, education and offices. “All development is carried out with the principle of mutual cooperation,” said Bambang.
“Basically, development at IKN is carried out not only to build a city, but development is carried out to meet the city’s needs to work, to live, and to play. Apart from that, this consortium is concerned with the development of IKN, not only as a livable city (liveable city)but also as a beloved city (lovable city),” he added.
City Planning Observer Nirwono Yoga said that various groundbreaking projects for IKN must be followed and proven by concrete implementation in the field.
According to him, it is predicted that investors will continue to wait and see for some time to come. He gave an example, developers who plan to build hospitals or schools, will probably still wait until they know for sure how many people will live in IKN.
โMany developers intend to build hospitals, hotels and shopping centers. The question is, who will use it? He built a hospital, OK, what class of hospital, and for how many patients. “If he makes it big it means there will be (potential) vacancies because there aren’t many sick people there,” said Nirwono.
Furthermore, Nirwono said, after considering various development developments in IKN, he predicted that by August 2024 what would be built would not be a living city, but only central government offices consisting of the Presidential Palace, presidential office, ministry offices and flats. for civil servants, TNI and Polri.
โIt’s all the result of a race against time. This means that everyone is pursuing the target of 2024 for the August ceremony (17 August) there. “This makes everything both in terms of planning, development and everything not ideal, which means (the development of IKN Nusantara) cannot be a reference for building an ideal city,” he concluded.
