JAKARTA: The Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD pair confirmed that they will file a dispute lawsuit related to the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres) to the Constitutional Court (MK) on Friday (22 March) or Saturday (23 March)
This statement was made by Ganjar in response to the vote recapitulation results announced by the General Election Commission (KPU) on Wednesday evening (20 March).
“We have prepared a legal team to immediately register this lawsuit, both on Friday and Saturday, so that everything we have prepared can be immediately submitted to the Constitutional judges,” said Ganjar to Kompas.com in a press conference held at the Ganjar-Mahfud Command Post , Jalan Teuku Umar Number 9, Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (21 March).
Ganjar hopes that this presidential election dispute lawsuit will be a momentum for the Constitutional Court judges to show their credibility.
He hopes that the Constitutional Court can handle this presidential election dispute fairly.
“We hope that the Constitutional Court will restore the dignity of our democracy in accordance with the expectations and regulations in force,” he said.
The former Governor of Central Java also hopes that this dispute lawsuit will reveal the problems that occurred during the 2024 presidential election.
Ganjar also revealed a number of pieces of evidence of fraud that occurred during the 2024 presidential election.
One of them was his visit with Mahfud to various community groups to ask about holding the 2024 elections.
As a result, they received reports from witnesses regarding fraudulent practices.
Not to forget, they also found that state apparatus was used to win one of the candidate pairs, as well as massive distribution of social assistance.
“Stories about the involvement of state apparatus from the center to the regions, as well as the massive distribution of social assistance, have all reached us through reports from the public,” explained the 54-year-old politician, quoted by CNBC Indonesia.
“Aside from that, there are stories about money politics and intimidation, he added.
Previously, Ganjar also emphasized that the implementation of the 2024 elections was no longer democratic because one of the vice presidential candidates advanced through a sudden change in regulations at the Constitutional Court (MK).
“Starting from the selection process for presidential and vice presidential candidates, to the Constitutional Court’s decision, all of this has raised doubts about the election process for many parties,”
