TheIKNPost.com โ PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI continues to show its commitment as a state-owned bank that moves into the international realm by providing credit facilities to the Indonesian diaspora doing business abroad, Hong Kong (24/2/24).
This time, BNI provided support through a diaspora loan facility to Kampung Kita, a chain of shops that provides various Indonesian products in Hong Kong.
Kampung Kita has been established since 2013, making it easier for the Indonesian diaspora in Hong Kong to obtain Indonesian products, especially food.
With seven operating shop chains, Kampung Kita is one of the main destinations for those who miss Indonesian delicacies amidst their daily lives in Hong Kong.
The distribution of this diaspora loan was officially carried out by BNI Network & Services Director, Ronny Venir, to the Owner of Kampung Kita, Phang Tjhung Phin.
The event took place in the context of Financial Education for Indonesian Diaspora and Migrant Workers at the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Hong Kong on Saturday, February 24 2024.
The Indonesian Consul General for Hong Kong, Yul Edison, also expressed his appreciation for BNI’s contribution in supporting the growth of diaspora businesses abroad, especially in Hong Kong.
“BNI has become a strategic partner of the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong to improve the welfare of Indonesian citizens abroad.
“I hope that the distribution of BNI diaspora loans can also contribute positively to national economic growth,” said Yul Edison.
Ronny Venir explained that BNI Hong Kong as an overseas branch of BNI which has a full branch license, can provide banking services from corporate customers to retail customers, including the business diaspora.
“The role of BNI offices abroad is very important as a business bridge between Indonesia and the world. The success of Kampung Kita is proof that Indonesian products can be successful in the international market.
“BNI will continue to support the expansion of the Kampung Kita business and other diaspora businesses,” said Ronny.
BNI believes in the great potential of the diaspora who are involved in the business world abroad. Through the diaspora loan initiative, BNI aims to provide financing support for businesses related to Indonesia run by the diaspora. “This Diaspora Loan is one of BNI’s steps in exploring business potential, both from overseas to Indonesia and vice versa,” said Ronny Venir.
